English IV focuses on the development of academic and professional English within the context of health sciences. Designed to strengthen both language competence and workplace readiness, the course emphasizes understanding and using specialized vocabulary and terminology through engaging, up-to-date content.

Students work with a range of authentic texts and multimedia materials that explore emerging topics in pharmaceutical and biomedical sciences, such as 3D-printed drugs, generative AI in drug design, robotics in aseptic filling, and advanced pharmaceutical production. These materials serve as a platform to build discipline-specific language skills and improve comprehension of complex scientific texts.

Emphasis is also placed on academic skills essential for university-level study and professional development, including summarizing, paraphrasing, and analyzing health science texts. Topics like pharmaceutical proteins, bioethics, and biotechnological advances provide context for academic language use and ethical reflection.

The course also develops further critical workplace skills, such as understanding technical documentation, presenting health-related research, and writing clearly and professionally for medical and scientific purposes.

Instruction combines face-to-face learning with interactive and digital tools. By the end of the course, students will be able to communicate confidently in English in both academic and health-related professional environments.
