Περιγραφή Μαθήματος

Since Museum studies involve a variety of scientists of diverse backgrounds such as: philosophers, historians, archaeologists, architects, engineers, artists, designers, computer scientists and others, the need to be able to use the English language effectively having knowledge of a variety of topics and issues is a necessity in the field. The museum terminology course concerns material on subjects such as: museums in Greece and abroad, history, culture and cultural heritage, history of art, museum practice, museums' funding and management, the contemporary museum, the digital museum, and museums and social media. The course provides museum studies' students with basic linguistic skills in English, enabling them to understand and produce texts in both languages (English and Greek), vocabulary competence, easy comprehension of   basic documents in their field work, fluency in writing and speaking. The aim of the course is to enhance students' linguistic ability and competency in comprehending and writing with ease in the English language. The texts that are provided concern various topics on museums enabling students to acquire a thorough knowledge of texts and documents.
