• English III is a third semester course which focuses on medical topics such as: 

  • Symptoms of disease
  • Pain
  • Diseases
  • Treatment of disease
  • Immunity
  • Case histories
  • The physical examination
  • Diagnostic and symptomatic suffixes

  Learning objectives

  • comprehending texts related to the above medical topics
  • using and understanding (listening/speaking/writing/reading) language and grammar in areas like 'taking a medical history', 'examining a patient', 'case histories', 'lectures'
  • understanding and correctly using Layman vs Medical terms/language
  • correct use of verb tenses focused on texts related to 'taking a medical history' 'writing case histories', 'the physical examination'
  • understanding the meaning, recognizing and using diagnostic and symptomatic suffixes 
  • understanding and using terms related to treatments of disease (eg. types of drugs)
