Περιγραφή Μαθήματος

English I is the first out of four semester courses required by the School of Medicine at the University of Patras. 

It is an intermediate English course covering:

• basic grammatical structures including verb tenses, passive voice, relative clauses, prepositions, articles and modals 
• introduction to medical vocabulary/terminology through short texts on health topics and practice excersises 
• skills necessary for successful communication at any university, college, school or institution where English is spoken

Participation in class is not mandatory but is recommended

In order to receive a grade students must pass the final examination or they may choose to be exempted from the exam by writing an informative essay and preparing an oral presentation in class on any health topic they choose
