English III- English for Mechanical Engineering

Περιγραφή Μαθήματος
The aim of this course is to further enhance your English technical terminology knowledge by introducing more specialized topics concerning Engineering, following English I and II. Furthermore, students are introduced to basics of Technical Communication with an emphasis on the written component. Technical genres such as various types of report writing, letters of application, CVs and cover letters are studied. Finally, essential academic vocabulary is studied primarily focusing on special needs engineers encounter in their academic life, e.g data, facts, figures etc.
Course keywords: academic English, academic style, reading strategies, summarising, facts/evidence/data, analysis of results, referring to sources, report writing(lab report vs business report) , engineering design.
