Over the last six years many changes have taken place in museums around the world.  Many museums worldwide operate with few professional staff and limited resourses. In this course, drawing from a wide range of practical experience, almost all aspects of museum work are discussed, from audience development and learning, through collections management and conservation, to museum management and forward planning. Students learn museum management, pre-service and in-service museum training programmes, where it can be supplemented by case studies, project work and group division. The course includes various subjects such as: Types of museums, the museum and its users, learning inside the museum and beyond the museum, museum websites, social media and museums, presenting and interpreting collections, presentation techniques, planning new displays and exhibitions, collecting and collections, managing and caring for collections, the museum and its buildings museum management, staff training and professional development and many other significant issues concerning the contemporary museum.
